Kickstarting 2025: Updates from our sites across Manchester

As we continue to transform unloved spaces into vibrant places for our partners and clients – including our work for our sister developer, Xpercity,  we thought it was time for a fresh update on where we’re at and where we’re headed in 2025. Here’s a run-down on each of our active sites, as well as what work has taken place over the last few months...

Lomax, Ducie Street

We reached practical completion on this scheme in January and are very proud of the hard work and commitment from our teams who worked so hard to get this project over the line. Located a stone's throw from Manchester Piccadilly train station, this boutique residential development comprises of 41 high-spec apartments.

We’re looking forward to seeing this exceptional space come to life and become a vibrant community in an exciting part of town.

Outram, Store Street

On behalf our the BR2.0 Group’s development arm, Xpercity, we’re well on our way to creating 69 new homes next to Manchester’s oldest aqueduct.

Ready for occupation in just over a year’s time, this build-to-rent (BTR) development sits within the east neighborhood of the Manchester Piccadilly East Regeneration Framework (SRF), right next to the city’s canal basin.

With the site’s low-level piling works now complete, the remainder of the higher-level piling is due to be completed in February, including the piling cap. We’re excited to see the steel frame installed in the coming months.

Brunswick, Bradford Road

Built in c1839-40, and known as one of the first mills in Manchester to be converted to electric power, Brunswick Mill has historically been important cultural asset for the city, not least because it has acted as a rehearsal and filming space for some for TV and film – including being used as the backdrop for Liam Gallagher’s ‘One of us’ music video.

The scheme is set to see us convert the building in 153 apartments, ranging from 502-1006 sq. ft. With phase one of the works having now begun – including the specialist removal of loose fittings and windows – our site team is well on their way to bringing the mill back to life.

Peelers Yard, New Cross

A new BTR apartment complex, set within an 1800’s police station, Peelers Yard is set to be transformed into 81 contemporary open plan apartments.

The first phase steel frame has now been completed, with the second part of the lightweight frame install due to commence in March.

What’s more, the added special addition to this site will include the former police station’s former 25-metre-high chimney stack, which is being retained as part of the developer’s sustainability ethos – the feature will also be adorned with a lantern.
